8/24/2023 0 Comments Fin field effect transistor![]() ![]() They demonstrated that short-channel effects can be significantly reduced by sandwiching a fully depleted silicon-on-insulator (SOI) device between two gate electrodes connected together. Sekigawa fabricated the XMOS transistor with Yutaka Hayashi at the ETL in 1984. A double-gate MOSFET was later proposed by Toshihiro Sekigawa of the Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL) in a 1980 patent describing the planar XMOS transistor. History Īfter the MOSFET was first demonstrated by Mohamed Atalla and Dawon Kahng of Bell Labs in 1960, the concept of a double-gate thin-film transistor (TFT) was proposed by H. It is common for a single FinFET transistor to contain several fins, arranged side by side and all covered by the same gate, that act electrically as one, to increase drive strength and performance. Microchips utilizing FinFET gates first became commercialized in the first half of the 2010s, and became the dominant gate design at 14 nm, 10 nm and 7 nm process nodes. It is the basis for modern nanoelectronic semiconductor device fabrication. įinFET is a type of non-planar transistor, or "3D" transistor. The FinFET devices have significantly faster switching times and higher current density than planar CMOS (complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor) technology. These devices have been given the generic name "FinFETs" because the source/drain region forms fins on the silicon surface. A double-gate FinFET deviceĪ fin field-effect transistor ( FinFET) is a multigate device, a MOSFET (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor) built on a substrate where the gate is placed on two, three, or four sides of the channel or wrapped around the channel, forming a double or even multi gate structure. For Ferroelectric memory with a ferroelectric FET gate, see FeFET. This article is about fin-shaped field-effect transistor.

We want to leave our system default Python installations alone, but we want to develop in Python 3.8. There's a system default Python 2.7, A system default Python 3, and now our newly added Python 3.8. So, we now have a few versions of Python installed on our machine. Managing Alternative Python Installations Ubuntu conveniently makes this the default for us. Once finished, go ahead and verify that the version of Python 3 you wanted is installed on your box: $ python3 -versionĪnd there it is! A shiny new Python: Python 3.8. $ sudo make altinstall Install from source ![]() Luckily for us, Ubuntu allows us to install additional (AKA: alternative) versions of Python by providing us with the make altinstall command: $ cd Python-3.8.0 The frustration of installing Python with apt-get install python3.X is that it'll install Python just fine, but Ubuntu will still default to using whichever version of Python is the default. Installing Alternative Python from Source The latest version of Python is now downloaded. $ sudo tar xzf Python-3.8.0.tgz Download Python The lines below will download a compressed Python 3.9.2 archive to your /opt folder and unzip it: $ cd /opt On your Ubuntu machine, you're going to fetch the Python source from the URL you copied with wget. On that page, scroll to the "files" section and copy the URL of the Gzipped source tarball. The first link on the above page should read Latest Python 3 Release - Python 3.X. The latest version of Python can always be found on the Python Source Releases page on : If a Python version is new enough, some Ubuntu machines might have the updated mirrors necessary to find the latest version More importantly, it's easier to manage multiple Python installations this way. We're going to download and build the latest Python version from source, for a number of reasons. This is where a lot of people might turn to installing Python via Ubuntu's package manager with apt-get install python3.X. ![]() Libsqlite3-dev tk-dev libgdbm-dev libc6-dev libbz2-dev libffi-dev zlib1g-dev Install Python dependencies $ sudo apt-get install libreadline-gplv2-dev libncursesw5-dev libssl-dev \ Trust me, it' a required step: $ sudo apt-get install build-essential checkinstall I'm honestly not even sure what half of these do, and neither of us will probably ever need to. Installing Python fresh on a Ubuntu machine requires us to install a whole bunch of prerequisite libraries that Python depends on. The first step should be familiar: we need to update Ubuntu's mirrors and packages to make sure we pull the latest packages when we install anything: $ apt update & apt upgrade -y Obligatory updates ![]() We're going to walk through how to install the current latest version of Python alongside Ubuntu's system Python versions safely and easily. We can easily switch the active version of Python on our machine via a convenient CLI.It's best to avoid messing around with your Python PATH whenever possible. We want to leave our system version of Python intact. So what do we do? There are a couple of ways to go about getting an updated version of Python on Ubuntu, but using Ubuntu's built-in "alternative install" is optimal for a number of reasons: In case nobody has told you not to do that, I'll do the honors: don't do that. But what if you don't want to run either of those versions? If you're like me, you might have tried to replace your system's default installation and destroyed your machine in the process. Code bootcamps and tutorials do a fine job of teaching students how to run Python code locally, but the most meaningful applications don't run on local machines: they run on servers, on the internet, because that's the point, isn't it? Maybe I'm taking crazy pills here.ĭepending on which version of Ubuntu you're running, your VPS probably shipped with either Python 2.7, or both Python 2.7 and Python 3.6. One of my earliest frustrations with Python development had nothing to do with Python itself, but rather the needlessly esoteric act of deploying a Python app. If you're running Ubuntu 18.04 or older, go here. There are a number of subtle differences to managing versions of Python on older distributions of Ubuntu. 8/24/2023 0 Comments Gram negative rods blood culture![]() The present study aims to apply IMR-MS analysis of headspace gas VC composition to microorganism differentiation by using blood culture broth samples originating from an unselected patient population. Consequently, the next step is to analyse clinical specimens to test for the presence of microorganisms. Although these results are extremely promising it must be noted that they were obtained under tightly controlled conditions with regard to broth medium, incubation time and number of inoculated microorganisms. Applying these systems to in vitro analysis of bacterial samples headspace volatile compound composition makes microorganism differentiation possible even down to the species level. The advent of sophisticated methods such as chemical noses, direct mass spectrometry systems like ion–molecule reaction mass spectrometry (IMR-MS) or selected ion flow tube MS (SIFT-MS) nowadays allow for direct analyses of gaseous samples. However, the need for sample preparation prior to analysis still represents a drawback of this method. applied liquid chromatography and headspace solid phase micro extraction GC mass spectrometry for the detection of volatile fatty acids originating from anaerobes in clinical samples of blood cultures and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. In contrast to the analysis of volatile fatty acids by liquid chromatography, where the solvent peak usually covers high volatility compounds, direct headspace gas chromatography (GC) allows for a more detailed investigation. The analysis of blood culture broth volatile fatty acid composition by gas–liquid chromatography for the detection of anaerobic bacteraemia has gained momentum back in the early 1980s. An ideal method for this purpose should be able to facilitate microorganism growth detection as well as Gram and species identification in a fully automated manner. Thus, there is an ongoing urgent search for rapid and reliable diagnostic methods allowing for the identification of the causative microorganisms. This limits microorganism identification and result communication to the clinician to standard working hours. However, subsequent procedures necessary for microorganism identification as Gram-staining, species identification by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) or biochemical methods and antibiotic susceptibility testing require staff presence. The first step in this process, namely the detection of microorganism growth in blood culture broth bottles, has achieved high reliability and works on a semi-automatic basis. Thus, fast identification of the causative organism is of highest priority as this allows for early adoption of antibiotic treatment. Although empiric antibiotic therapy is usually initiated prior to species identification in septic patients, inappropriate antibiotic therapy is present in up to 20 % of patients suffering from Gram-positive bacteraemia. In septic patients, about 50 % of microbial proven infections are bloodstream infections with Gram-positive bacteria. This already high mortality rate is further increased up to 55.2 % when infectious complications progress to the development of sepsis or severe sepsis, a condition found with a prevalence of 76–300 cases per 100,000 population per year in the United States, France, and Germany. The occurrence of infectious complications in critically ill patients significantly impacts patient outcome by increasing the mortality rate from 11 % in non-infected patients to 25 % in patients with infection. 8/24/2023 0 Comments Prodeus mapping tool![]() For example, you can use the model type “Event-driven process chain” to map your business process or the model type “BPMN diagram” if you want to document workflow processes.Ī simple BPMN diagram may look like this:įigure 1: Example of a BPMN diagram How to create a process map The main goal of the map is to provide an overview of the relevant business processes, so that organizations and individuals participating in a process are able to understand their specific role in the overall structure.ĪRIS Basic supports different possibilities of mapping processes.
